Crieff has always been a favourite of mine and to have this excellent excuse to drop into the town and enjoy some of their great coffee shops and galleries is just wonderful! I was particularly pleased to be all signed up and ready to go this month as the Famous Grouse Experience are hosting their Famous Feastival at the end of May. This is a tremendous event and if you get the chance you really must come along. Along with all the wonderful whiskey and some chocolate masterclasses one of my all time favourite chefs will be in attendance - Tom Kitchin.
As we' busy chatting about feasts I think its only fair to let you in on some of the other great foodie treats in the Crieff area. As well as the aforementioned Famous Grouse, you will find a host of talented, artisan producers. On the second Saturday of the month you' find them gathered in the local square selling at Crieff Country Market. This is a fabulous day out and if you are visiting is over this weekend do make sure you grab your bag and head for the town. Expect fresh local produce, crafts, baking, jams and preserves, local artisans and lots more.
And of course, you know that Crieff is home to everyone’s childhood favourite – sugar mice! Gordon and Durwards is one of the only shops we know that is guaranteed to raise a smile on even the dourest of faces! This traditional sweetie shop houses jars of sweets, handmade fudges and tablet. To be honest, the famous sugar mice are almost reason enough for a visit to Strathearn!
We will be adding to the Crieff events, restaurants and galleries as we discover them throughout the year - if you have any favourites you' like to see featured please do let us know. I' always happy to research a new coffee shop or fun event!
Best wishes, Bea
Hello Bea, We had a lovely stay at Linfeild last week. We enjoyed the area and the house was exceptionally well equipped and spotlessly clean. Thank you !
Mum and I had a fabulous week at Tigh Monadh. It was so lovely and quiet, clean, warm and comfortable with everything you could need. The owners are lovely and the welcome pack was just wonderful. Above and beyond expectations. There was just the two of us, and two dogs, but the cottage would be just as comfortable with four people. It was ideal for mum who is 81, as it was on one level with two small low steps at the front door. Highly recommend Many thanks
A fantastic place to stay. The location is very well connected via the A9 but secluded enough to feel peaceful. The sun room dining area is particularly nice for eating as group in the evening watching the sunset.
