We really enjoyed walking 10 mins into Dunkeld for dinner at The Atholl Arms and discovering all the local walks, like the Hermitage and the banks of the Tay to Birnam Oak. We saw ospreys at Loch of the Lowes and visited the Crannog centre. Loved coming back to the cottage and relaxing in front of the wood burner! Great wee escape! "

Especially I enjoyed the possibilites to ride a bike on forest roads and paths in and around Dunkeld. We rented bikes in Dunkeld. There are also plenty of opportunities to take photos both with and without the bike. "

"What a beautiful location and an amazing cabin, we had a wonderful stay. The wildlife watching will be missed when we return to the city, sitting out watching the birds, deer and the red squirrels has been so relaxing. The location is also perfect for stargazing, a couple of clear nights meant some amazing photos were taken of the starry skies. The cosy cabin topped off a lovely break. "

There were a few unexpected highlights. The Highland Night at the recreation ground on Monday nights was a surprise for us. A Pipeband, dancers and entertainment for toe-tapping and clapping (an outside entertainment so dogs welcome). We also discovered Menzies Castle near Aberfeldy. A very authentic and unspoiled piece of Scottish history.

We had a lovely time in Pitlochry and the surrounding area. 22 Lagreach Brae was the ideal spot within walking distance of the town. Faskally woods were a real bonus for walking the dog. The property was very clean and comfortable, especially the beds! Lots of places to eat in Pitlochry offering excellent food and good value for money.
