Benefits of Staying in a Remote Cottage

Slow-Living. A remote location offers the visitor the ability to focus without distraction and persue areas of interest, artisitic ambitions and projects or hobbies such as painting, reading, writing, stargazing. Or simply, to sit still, and sip coffee.

Digital Detox. The solitude and peace that comes from holidaying in a remote place, often allows for a complete switch-off. The quietness allows for deep introspection and relaxation. A sense of clarity may check in anytime.

Peace & Privacy. Cottages that are located in remote places offer excellent seclusion, connection with nature and little distraction that often comes from being in shared spaces. Give yourself the gift of tranquility.

Charm. Fireplaces and wooden beams, brass beds, even outdoor loos, rustic homesteads and unique, quirky architecture help to create a charming atmosphere and unique experience by the bucketload.

Immersion & Connection. Surrounded by natural beauty, remote holiday locations offer a key way to foster connection with nature, and in so doing, help to reduce stress, anxiety and boost your feel-good factor many-fold.

Ruggles cottage is exquisite. Beautiful setting, fabulous house. The service is top class and you are made feel right at home..... even if you arrive a bit late! We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Great stay at the Auld Smiddy. Perfect location for some great walking across to Edradour, Black Spout. And we climbed Ben Vrackie and Criagower from the front door. A short walk down the hill to Pitlochry and all that little town has to offer. Cosy comfort inside the cottage. Would definitely return on our next trip to Scotland.
